Who says there aren't beaches in Idaho?

Eric's Dad was in town visiting and we had a really fun day on friday. The two of them planned a day of golf in McCall (2 hours north of Boise) and I couldn't pass up an opportunity to go to my new favorite place. I keep seeing Richmond friends' blogs with their Virginia Beach pictures and they really make me miss it! But we have found our new beach- only with pine trees and mountains rather than salt water and waves! McCall has a beautiful pristine lake and the little town is full of cute shops and good restaurants. So Eva and I decided we were going to have some girl time while the boys golfed 18 holes.

We found a nice beach area so I changed into my suit and since I haven't found Eva a swimsuit yet, she just wore the good ol' fashioned kind.....a diaper. I know, not as cute as a teeny bikini but it served it's purpose for the day. She loved going out into the water and getting her toes buried in the sand. I had the funnest day and was so glad I had my little sidekick with me. She makes everything more fun.

What do you think?

I have been thinking about putting a "Weekly Workout Tip" on our blog using things I learned in school and work. I thought it might make our blog a little more interesting and helpful and it would also help my brain to keep functioning since I'm not currently working. What do you think? If hardly anyone responds I'll get a clue that it's a cheesy idea but I won't feel bad.

Happy Birthday Liss!

It was the birthday of my cutest, sweetest little sister Melissa Jewel yesterday. I feel so lucky to have the relationship that I do with her. She is my best bud and even though we have lived apart for a while we still laugh our heads off when we are together just like we did when we shared a room as little girls. We are 4 years apart and many times people have thought that she is my older sister... for some reason :)! She is such a good person and has so many friends because people always want to be around her. She can make you laugh and make you feel good about yourself. She never has anything negative to say about others. She is always happy and smiling with a positive attitude.
Liss has been doing my hair for quite some time now and I don't know what I would do without my little beautician. The night I went in to to the hospital to get induced to have Eva I took a shower before we left and Liss wouldn't let me go without blowdrying and curling my hair. There was no way I was going to meet my baby without my hair done! Little did we know what labor would do to it...but it actually did look pretty good. With no one else can I get beautiful hair, drink crystal light and get it all over my face, sneak into private swimming pools (ok maybe that was my doing), dance like a madwoman, be awesome body-boarder chics, drive to abercrombie and get lost, and just be crazy sisters.
Thanks for so many fun memories and for being the sis that you are. We love you.
Happy Birthday!

1st Run: Deadly but Fun

This morning I went running for the first time since I had Eva. Except it wasn't just running. It was 6 miles and a full hour of trail running up and down a mountain (probably a hill, but felt like Mount Everest). Some friends from my ward invited me and I got beat down by a very fit mother of 6 and her daughter and friend. Huffing and puffing I ran the whole way with them but I had to keep up to avoid getting lost and turned around. Yes, I'm a personal trainer, but hey. Those 2 mile walk-jogs on the Greenbelt Parkway with Eva and a little kickboxing are all I have been doing. It was great to have somebody to challenge me and to be able to go before Eric left for work. I loved seeing the beautiful morning sun come up over the mountains. If I'm not still sore, maybe I'll go again next week.
